The Sky is Still Falling and Now it Will Cost Money
The hysterics from the sky is falling laboratory are still so convinced that the sky will fall and we have to stop living in the 21st Century right now, that their willing accomplices in the federal government are trying to pass a bill that will cause our energy costs to skyrocket. That’s their description, not mine.
My question is why? They try to defend themselves with their argument that the sky will fall and we must panic and change our evil ways now, but they never produce the data that confirms their science. They continue to argue that the consequences are too dire for us to sit back and wait for the end to come without fighting back. Well yes, we shouldn’t fight back. We only have their word that there is a crisis, they don’t produce any data to change our minds. Just because you’re allegedly smart and I am only marginally smart, I still want to see the data.
If it’s necessary for me to change my way of life at great cost to me and my family, to avoid an invisible potential crisis, that may or may not come in the future, I want to know I’m doing the right thing. You’re trying to warn me against a terrible disaster, I have to trust that you’re telling me the great cost is worth it. I’m sorry, the geniuses at the sky is falling laboratory have not convinced me, and the elected idiots trying to pas a law to bankrupt me are even less convincing.
The law is over 950 pages long, it doesn’t need to be; no one can read it or understand it. The Arizona Law to enforce the Federal Law on Illegal immigrants is only 21 pages long. That’s too long for a piece of legislation, but it’s a lot better than 950 pages.
Why should we trust you that this legislation is worth the price? The authorities behind why it’s necessary haven’t made a convincing enough argument that their science is correct and we are at risk. I am deducing that there isn’t enough convincing science to strengthen their argument because they haven’t made an attempt. They either feel that the science does not make their point strong enough and that we have to go forward on faith only or they know the science will not strengthen their case because it’s not there.
We have two groups of people with questionable motives and a history of deception and incompetence; those two groups want us to increase the cost of everything. I don’t think so. Actions have consequences. They way congress conducts their business has never done anything to convince me they can be trusted. Their misrepresentations and distortions of the facts have made me less likely to believe anything they say. If there is a real risk with Global Warming, I will not believe them because of how they conduct their business on a daily basis. When they tell me the sky is blue I can’t believe them. They have created a condition that prevents me from expecting an honest effort on their part or even the ability to speak the truth. Their lack of ethical behavior in the past prevents me from trusting them in the future. Their mismanagement of resources causes me to feel that they should be removed from any position that has any contact with public finds. I believe, bases on history that they are only interested in what is in their own best interests not mine.
The scientist who have been telling us that the sky is falling have whined and cried and pointed fingers, but have not presented an argument in a way that we can believe. Show me, convince me with an argument that is believable. So far all they do it tell us that we caused the problem and we have to take a step backwards in time until we give up a hundred years of progress, and spend a ton of money as well.
Those are serious steps to take and would be worth it is we had a crisis. They’ve failed to produce a convincing argument. Present a case in simple words so I can believe you. If you can’t do that you can’t come to the conclusion that the sky is falling.
If you’re smart enough to take the data that you collect and analyze it and come to the conclusion that we are killing the planet, you must be able to put it together in a way that a dummy like me can see it and understand it and agree it.
And also if you need an accomplice to help you convince me to believe your crisis, don’t use a bunch of serial liars and spendthrifts to help strengthen your argument. That only works against you not for you.
